The judges will determine the winners based on the following criteria:

  • Demonstrates empathy and humanity through creative writing.
  • Creative treatment of the competition theme.
  • Effective control of language to communicate meaning.

Students will need a teacher or parent to submit your entry.

Teachers or parents can submit entries online using the form below.

Entries are now open for 2022!

All entries :

  • To be valid, entries must be received by the closing date, Friday 9 September 2022.
  • Must be an original POEM or STORY and be no more than 500 words
  • The theme should be a focus of the story or poem in some way, however, the theme does not need to be overdone. Imagination, lateral thinking and creativity are encouraged!
  • No more than 3 entries per student
  • Please note: Email or mail entries can no longer be accepted due to the high volume of entries received. All entries must be submitted using the form below.


All online submissions must be entered by a teacher or adult.

Enter each student separately, with no more than three entries per student.

Entries have closed for 2022. The winners will be honoured at an awards ceremony in November.
